Having previously investigated the molecular mechanisms of germline development and stem cell formation in Drosophila, I recently joined the Shigenobu Lab to investigate how endosymbiotic systems are established during development. I also have an interest in germline development of aphids, particularly in unraveling the molecular mechanisms that drive the transition from asexual to sexual reproduction.
