Assistant professor

National Institute for Basic Biology, Japan

Tomonari Nozaki is interested in the ecological significance of polyploidy, especially tissue-specific polyploidy. He has focused on social insects (termites), and recently, He added aphids and the symbiotic bacteria Buchnera as new materials. What is the significance of polyploidy in both bacteriocytes (specialized host cells) and the symbionts; this is his main project in the Evolutionary Genomics Lab.
